Woman Assaults Officers, Nurse In Stafford: SCSO

An intoxicated woman assaulted several officers at Stafford Marketplace and later assaulted a nurse at an area hospital, say police.

STAFFORD, VA—A woman was arrested Tuesday night, June 18, following a drunken episode at Stafford Marketplace during which she assaulted police and later assaulted a nurse and threatened to kill an officer at an area hospital, according to the Stafford County Sheriff's Office.

Kristen Younger, 35, of Stafford, was charged with assault on law enforcement, assault on a healthcare worker, disorderly conduct on hospital grounds, drunk in public and obstruction by force or threat.

Around 8:30 p.m., police responded to the scene for a reported intoxicated woman creating a ruckus near Buffalo Wild Wings. They found Younger "swaying and yelling profanities" while on the phone in front of the Michaels store, and said she smelled strongly of alcohol and had bloodshot eyes.

When she continued to be belligerent, police tried to arrest her but she resisted and kicked an officer in the torso. Once in the cruiser, she slammed her head into a partition, cutting her forehead. While being taken out for treatment, she spit on two officers before being taken to an area hospital.

Upon arrival, she kicked a nurse, two officers, repeatedly "shrieked at the top of her lungs," threatened to kill an officer and tried to bite him. After being treated, she was taken to jail and held without bond.

Also arrested was her husband, Anthony Younger, 46, of Stafford. During the initial episode, he refused police commands to stop blocking traffic and remove himself from a fire lane. He also interfered during his wife's initial arrest, and was charged with obstruction of justice, pedestrian in the roadway and public swearing.
