Woman Dies After House Fire In Stafford: Authorities

STAFFORD, VA—A woman has died following a house fire early Friday, June 28, in the 1200 block of Mountain View Road, according to Stafford County Fire and Rescue. The woman, 55, was taken to a nearby hospital and later pronounced dead.

Units responded to the scene shortly after 1 a.m. for a reported house fire and found the home engulfed in flames. The fire was brought under control after about an hour. The home has been declared a total loss and the cause is under investigation.

The woman's name has not been released. She was the only one in the home.
