12-Year-Old Boy Shot In Lincolnia: Police
Fairfax County Police are looking into the shooting of a 12-year-old boy who was found with multiple gunshot wounds.

LINCOLNIA, VA — A 12-year-old boy was shot in Lincolnia Tuesday, according to Fairfax County Police.
The juvenile boy was shot in the 4600 block of N. Chambliss Street around 4:18 p.m. Tuesday. Police found the boy with multiple lower body gunshot wounds, Sgt. Jacob Pearce told reporters. Officers provided aid until fire and rescue arrived, and the boy went to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. He was later released from the hospital.
Bases on preliminary investigations, detectives believe the victim exited a vehicle and was walking to a home. Then, a suspect shot him and fled in a vehicle.

The suspect was described as a white or Hispanic man wearing a black mask.
Another person who talked to police at the scene, Demonte Basil, 18, of Washington D.C., was cited for unlawfully concealing a weapon.

Detectives do not believe the incident was random.
"We believe there's no immediate threat to the public here, and we believe everyone has fled the area," said Pearce.
The investigation into the shooting is active. Detectives are canvassing the neighborhood to seek information.
