Metropolitan School of the Arts to Present Spring Ballet: Coppelia
Local Performing Arts Studio to Perform at George Washington National Masonic Memorial in Alexandria, Va.

Metropolitan School of the Arts (MSA) of Alexandria, Va. will perform its spring ballet, Coppelia, performed by 50 MSA youth ballet students at the George Washington National Masonic Memorial on Sat., Apr. 27 and Sun., Apr. 28, with showtimes at 12 p.m. and 5 p.m. Tickets are from $18 to $25 and can be purchased at metropolitanarts.org
Coppelia, a captivating tale of love, mischief, and mechanical dolls. Audiences can experience a village brought to life by dance, where fantasy and reality blur in this heartwarming story, perfect for all ages. In addition to the performances, MSA will also feature a Springtime Marketplace and a meet-and-greet session after the show.
Senior MSA students, Meredith Odegard, Jacob Anderson, and Molly Scannell be featured in the performance, with professional guest performer Shaw Wu. Odegard will attend the College of William and Mary in Virginia to study history and dance, while Anderson has been accepted into the Joffrey Ballet's Training Program in Chicago. Scannell was awarded a full scholarship to the Tulsa Ballet's Training Program in Oklahoma and will also attend the Ballet West Summer Intensive. Wu is currently a distinguished dancer with the Washington Ballet's Studio Company in Washington, D.C.

“This ballet entertains audiences of all ages and serves as a wonderful complement to the timeless charm of classic fairy tales. It's an introduction to the historic world of ballet, showcasing a range of narratives beyond the traditional ‘princess’ stories,” said MSA Artistic Director, Jacqueline Doherty.
