Neighborhood Patrol Foster Dog Up For Adoption

Kona, a golden retriever husky mix, will join the neighborhood patrol in Franconia until she's adopted.

Are you ready to bring home a new furry friend? Well, it can't get any better than this good girl who's joining the Franconia Neighborhood Unit as a foster dog.

Fairfax County officers are beginning an effort to foster homeless dogs like Kona from the animal shelter. Kona, a golden retriever/Siberian husky mix, will go home with a foster-certified officer every night and join the team on work days.

Kona loves being around people, giving kisses and playing fetch. She is housetrained and knows basic commands like sit, fetch, shake and stay. Kona is going up for adoption soon, so contact the Fairfax County Animal Shelter at 703-830-1100 if you're interested.

Act quickly, because Kona will be adopted in no time if that sweet face is any indication. But don't worry: there will be more chances to see more adoptable dogs on patrol. Once Kona is adopted, the neighborhood patrol unit will start all over again with a new foster dog.
