Nova Plein Air Artists Opening Exhibit Inspired By River Farm
River Farm, originally owned by George Washington, provided inspiration for an art exhibit opening through early April.

FORT HUNT, VA — River Farm, once part of George Washington's farms, is a popular place for special events and visitors simply coming to admire its gardens and waterfront views. It also provided inspiration for the Nova Plein Air Artists, who will open with a reception Sunday at River Farm.
Nova Plein Air Artists is a group of local artists that hosts weekly "paint outs" at locations with diverse landscapes and geography, such as parks, farms, vineyards and urban settings. River Farm, the headquarters of the American Horticultural Society, has no shortage of scenic views with its 26 acres of formal and natural gardens. The site includes woodlands, a meadow, children's garden and Potomac River views.
These sites will be featured in the exhibit "Celebrations of the Land, Inspired by River Farm." The art exhibit, featuring over 50 paintings, will be open from Jan. 22. Many of the paintings were made on site at River Farm. All art will be available for purchase.
