Pedestrian Fatally Struck By Minivan On I-95 Near Franconia: Police
Virginia State Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian-involved crash that occurred early Thursday on I-95 near the Franconia exit.
FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — A pedestrian was fatally injured early Friday morning after he was struck by a minivan on southbound I-95 near the Old Keene Mill Road/Route 644 exit in the Franconia/Springfield area.
Virginia State Police are investigating the crash that occurred around 3:55 a.m. Investigators determined that the minivan was traveling south on I-95 near the 169-mile marker when it encountered a pedestrian in the right travel lane, according to police.
Unable to avoid the pedestrian, the minivan struck them. The pedestrian later died at the scene.
