Sandburg Middle School Shooter Threat Found To Be Prank
A report of an active shooter was determined to be a prank call after Fairfax County Police responded to the middle school.

FORT HUNT, VA — A report of an active shooter at a Fort Hunt middle school was determined to be a prank call Monday.
Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck shared an update with residents about the reported threat at Carl Sandburg Middle School. According to the supervisor, Fairfax County Police responded to the school for an active shooter call, and the school was put on lockdown. Once the incident was determined to be a prank call with no active threat, police identified the students involved.
"As usual, I and Mount Vernon District School Board Member Karen Corbett Sanders have been in close contact with our public safety leaders to keep your children safe," Storck shared Monday afternoon. "Parents, please talk to your children about the dangers of making prank calls about our schools and other public infrastructure. This is a crime and is subject to prosecution."
