Why do you believe the star student athlete should be recognized?

I believe he should be nominated as he is an athlete who plays in a prominently white sport. He doesn't let that affect him, and not being the highest level athlete, he gives 100% effort every time and puts work in outside of normal practice. He is also a high performing student with a 4.5 GPA. He is a genuine kid who always puts others before himself, and that is the one quality that everyone respects him for.
