Summer Concert Series Return To Mount Vernon, Lee Districts

MOUNT VERNON, VA — There's nothing quite like a warm summer night paired with music and socializing with friends and family. The Fairfax County Park Authority will once again bring back the Summer Entertainment Series in southeastern Fairfax County and other locations in 2021.

This summer tradition seeks to build a sense of community with a variety of performances, from classical to bluegrass and other musical genres as well as children’s performances. The summer concert season at park authority venues will kick off on July 7.

In southeastern Fairfax, concert series include Mount Vernon Nights and Lee District Nights.

Mount Vernon Nights are free concerts Saturdays at Workhouse Arts Center and Fridays at Grist Mill Park. The events are held in partnership with Mount Vernon District Supervisor Dan Storck, supporters of Mount Vernon Nights, Fairfax County Park Authority, and the Fairfax County Park Foundation. Attendees are invited to bring a blanket and picnic dinner to the performances.

Lee District Nights will be held Wednesdays at Lee District Park. Held by the Lee District Supervisor, supporters of Lee District Nights, Fairfax County Park Authority, and the Fairfax County Park Foundation, the concerts cover genres such as jazz, big band, classic, bluegrass, Latin, swing, and vintage rock ‘n roll. Picnic dinners and blankets are encouraged for attendees.
