  1. A Harrisonburg man is facing attempted murder charges after he allegedly assaulted a Virginia State Trooper last weekend. Virginia State Police say the incident occurred Sunday, Mar. 19, on Interstate 81 when 31-year-old Alberto Bravo, Jr. attacked a trooper who intervened during the assault of another car passenger. Bravo was transported to Rockingham County Jail and is being held without bond. (WRIC ABC 8News)
  2. Crews with the Harrisonburg Fire Department recently conducted a neighborhood canvas to urge smoke detector safety. The firefighters offered door-to-door installs and smoke detector checks to help improve emergency preparedness throughout Harrisonburg. Residents are reminded that smoke alarms should be checked regularly and replaced every ten years. (WHSV)
  3. The James Madison University football program hosted more than 20 National Football League scouts during a Pro Day event on Monday. A total of 12 players showcased their skills in the weight room and on the field, participating in events including the broad jump, shuttle run, and 40-yard dash. The event aimed to help the Dukes improve their stock heading into the upcoming NFL Draft. (WHSV)
