  1. Harrisonburg Public Works is hosting an open house on Thursday, Mar. 30 at 4:30 p.m. to discuss upcoming roadway reconfiguration projects. The open house, which will take place in the Lucy F. Simms Continuing Education Center Auditorium, will discuss multiple road corridors, including portions of Mt. Clinton Pike, Garbers Church Road, and East Market Street. The city’s goals for each reconfiguration are to decrease crashes and improve the safety and desirability of biking and walking on the corridor. More detailed information regarding the nature and timeline of each project may be found at the link. (City of Harrisonburg, VA)
  2. In an 11-mile march through the Friendly City, Harrisonburg Radio Group helped gather food and funds for the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank. The operation, which took seven hours, raised awareness about food insecurity by pushing carts. The march was the first of many Marches for Meals. "The main thing is just bringing awareness to this, not only collecting funds, but also letting people know that if they are in a situation where they have food insecurity, that there is a place to go, and a connection that can be made,” Harrisonburg Radio Group FM Operations Manager Brandy Lindsey said.
