HERNDON, VA -- A homeowner in Herndon witnessed two men smashing her glass door with a gun, prompting her to scream and sending the men fleeing, police say.

The incident happened at around 3:15 p.m. in the 13000 block of Avonmore Drive on Feb. 27, according to a report from the Fairfax County Police Department.

"Two men were seen by the homeowner smashing the glass door with a gun and attempting to open it," the report states. "The homeowner screamed and the two men ran away on foot."

Police described the men as black, between 17 and 20 years old, and one was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt while the other was wearing a white hooded sweatshirt.
