Elderly Woman Assaults, Kills Husband In Herndon: Police

HERNDON, VA -- An elderly Herndon woman is being held without bond after assaulting and killing her husband, police say.

Police were called to the 400 block of Patrick Lane on Feb. 19 to a report of an aggravated domestic assault, and took 79-year-old Thuan Tran to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, which he died from three days later, according to a report from the Herndon Police Department.

Police arrested his wife, 77-year-old Nhan Pham, at the scene and and initially charged her with malicious wounding, the report states.

"Herndon Police detectives are currently working with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to amend charges," the report states.
