HERNDON, VA -- Herndon police are warning of traffic problems in downtown Herndon into the late afternoon Friday due to a utility work.

The Herndon Police Department tweeted at 9:41 a.m. that utility work in the downtown area has traffic alternating one lane on Elden Street between Spring and Center streets, and commuters should expect delays.

Shortly after, Herndon police tweeted that utility work is expected to continue until about 3 p.m.
