Police say teen suspects robbed man in Hayfield, stole his car, burglarized his home in Bailey's Crossroads; car found in Mount Vernon area.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- Fairfax County Police say that two teens, threatening a man with a knife and hammer, robbed a man who was doing construction work at a home in the Hayfield area Sunday morning.

The incident began at around 10 a.m., Sunday, in the 5500 block of Broadmoor Street (see map below), where the victim, 45, was doing construction work at a home. When the suspects entered the home, they threatened him with a knife and a hammer and demanded money, police said. They took the man's wallet and stole his car, according to police.

The car was found later, abandoned on Woodlawn Court (see third map below), in the Mount Vernon area, police said. Further investigation determined the suspects burglarized the victim’s home in the 6000 block of Knollwood Drive (see second map below) in Bailey's Crossroads, shortly after robbing him. The victim was not injured. The investigation is ongoing.
