Woman Assaulted While Walking Dog in Franconia Area: Police

The woman, 46, was able to get away Tuesday afternoon and the suspect fled, Fairfax County Police said.

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA -- A woman walking a dog Tuesday afternoon in the Franconia area was assaulted, according to Fairfax County Police.

Police say the incident took place in the 5900 block of Founders Hill (see map below) Tuesday at 4:42 p.m.

The 46-year-old woman was walking a dog on a path and was assaulted by an unknown male, according to police. She was able to get away and the suspect fled. The victim drove herself to a local hospital and was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect was described as a Hispanic male with dark hair and a beard, police said. He was wearing a black T-shirt and blue jeans.
