Fire Engulfs Occoquan Boat Behind Madigan's (Photos)
The cause was most likely an electrical malfunction.
A fire that engulfed a 36-foot Chris Craft behind Madigan's Grill in Occoquan yesterday was most likely caused by an electrical malfunction, according to the Occoquan-Woodbridge-Lorton Volunteer Fire Department.
OWL VFD initially responded to the report of a boat fire at 11:43 a.m. and found the boat in flames, with other boats nearby. Firefighters extinguished the fire in a few minutes. No one was on the boat, and no one was injured.
"The boat was towed to a local marina and removed from the river to prevent any possible pollutants from the fire or fuel remaining on-board," an OWL VFD statement read.
