The Loudoun County Animal Shelter is waiving adoption fees for the "Clear the Shelters" event on Saturday, Sept. 18.
LOUDOUN COUNTY, VA — Loudoun County Animal Services is hosting a "Clear the Shelters" event on Saturday, Sept. 18. All adoption fees will be waived.
The free pet adoption event will be held at the animal shelter from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday. The shelter, which moved to a new location over the summer, is located at 42225 Adoption Drive in Leesburg. Motorists must take Sycolin Road to Crosstrail Boulevard to access the facility, as Kincaid Boulevard is closed from Battlefield Parkway.
This event could not be coming at a better time," Shelter Operations Manager Amy Martin said in a news release. "In just the last two weeks, we have received over 130 animals from a number of different sources."

"Our beautiful new shelter has allowed us to provide a safe haven for all of these pets, but our kennels are full, and we want to find them all loving homes," Martin said. "We are hopeful that the community will take this chance to come out and find a new best friend."
Dogs, cats, rabbits, and other small pets are available for adoption at the shelter. All dogs, cats, and rabbits are spayed and neutered before going home with their new owner. Those animals are also microchipped.
