In Patch questionnaires, candidates cited varying reasons for seeking office. Joe Smith is running in the Little River district. He told Patch that the school board needs change.

"I believe we need change in the way our school system is currently functioning, to help restore trust with the community we serve."
Erika Ogedegbe is an incumbent school board member representing Leesburg. She told Patch that the school board still needs to work on rebuilding its reputation.
"[The single most pressing issue facing our board is] communication and trust," she said in a questionnaire. "As the current school board member in Leesburg, I strive to be available and a resource to my constituents."
