• County Boosts Transit with Free Rides, New Services (loudounnow.com) — Leesburg riders now have access to free on-demand microtransit and expanded paratransit service, alongside county buses recharging at a nearby maintenance facility. County leaders restored several commuter routes, added electric buses, and are weighing future fare hikes while planning to extend successful Leesburg-style on-demand service to Sterling in coming years.
   

• Hedgesville YouTuber Arrested After Youth Basketball Dispute (thewinchestergazette.com) — Leesburg police have charged a 23-year-old West Virginia YouTuber with malicious wounding after an alleged assault on a juvenile during a youth basketball game at Ida Lee Park Recreation Center on Dec. 28. The suspect later surrendered at Leesburg Police Headquarters and is being held without bond, and investigators are asking anyone with additional information to contact them or submit anonymous tips.
