- A teen involved in shooting and illegally discharging a firearm near the 100 block of Meadows Lane NE in May has been found by Leesburg Police Department. Jairo Amaya-Sorto, 18, has been booked into the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center without bond. He is being charged with willful discharge of a firearm in a public place, possession of a firearm by an undocumented individual, two counts of destruction of property, and possession of a controlled substance. (Town of Leesburg, Virginia)
- A sum of $13.4 million has been set aside for the Westpark property project in Leesburg. By 2027, the 134-acre park will be complete with five miles of trails, a disc golf course, a dog park, fishing piers, and more. Some concerns were raised in a community meeting on the interim maintenance plan, and if limited mowing and maintenance would hinder the use of the park. The full concept plan can be viewed here. - A new cafe and bar has popped up in Leesburg. The Corner Cafe & Bar has officially opened their doors at the Leesburg Premium Outlets next to the Michael Kors outlet. Enjoy a variety of espresso drinks, muffins, sandwiches, beer on tap, and more, along with indoor and outdoor seating. (The Burn)
