Top New Elementary School Teacher Named In Loudoun County
Jessica Bourscheid has been named the 2019 Elementary New Teacher of the Year. She's a fourth-grade teacher at Evergreen Mill.

LEESBURG, VA—Suffice to say, Jessica Bourscheid knows Evergreen Mill Elementary School. For one thing, her mom's a second-grade teacher there. For another thing, she attended the school. Finally, Jessica began teaching there this school year as a fourth-grade teacher. If there's something going on at the school, she's likely to know about it.
But what she didn't know about the school at 491 Evergreen Road until late last week, however, is that she was named the Loudoun County Public School 2019 Elementary New Teacher of the Year. Fourteen new teachers were nominated for the honor.
The surprise announcement of Bourscheid's award was made Thursday, May 30th, at an after-school ceremony in Evergreen Mill's library by Loudoun County Public Schools (LCPS) Assistant Superintendent for Human Resources and Talent Development Dr. Kimberly Hough, Supervisor of Evaluation Julie Cuocci and Mentoring and Coaching Specialist Julie Baye. Bourscheid's father, Mark, grandparents (Roni and Ernie Bourscheid) and boyfriend (Mike Iannello) hid in a classroom until it was time for the announcement to be made.
