Here are the top three stories today in Lynchburg:

The fund has been named the 140 Fund in honor of the Alliance's 140th anniversary and was created as a way to fill the gap in funding for Lynchburg small business initiatives and support new ideas. The Alliance is asking for donations of $140, or any amount, with a goal of $140,140.40 by the end of the year. (Subscription: Lynchburg News and Advance)
  2. Liberty University police are asking for help identifying a person suspected of stealing university property. The police department has provided a photo of the alleged perpetrator and reported that the theft occurred on Mar. 6. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the Liberty University Police Department by phone or enter an anonymous tip online. (WSET)
  3. A new mental health crisis center has opened in Lynchburg, thanks to the efforts of The Lighthouse and the Focus Point Mental Health team.
