- Lynchburg City Councilman Marty Misjuns' 2021 lawsuit against the City of Lynchburg, the Lynchburg Fire Department, then-City Manager Reid Wodicka, then-Mayor MaryJane Dolan, and then-Vice Mayor Beau Wright has been pushed until March 2024, court documents show. Misjuns filed suit against the parties for an alleged breach of contract and a violation of constitutional rights. He is seeking damages including back pay, lost wages, and relief. (WDBJ)
- Lynchburg City Schools have announced plans to add security vestibules to four schools in the district. Essentially a second doorway at the entrance, the vestibules will be installed at Paul Monroe Elementary School, Carl B. Hutcherson Early Learning Center, Dearington Elementary School, and Dunbar Middle School before the next school year. Lynchburg City Council voted Tuesday to set aside $260,000 to help fund the project. (WSET)
- Holy Heaven Cookie Co. will open Saturday, Mar. 18 at 8:00 a.m. at the Lynchburg Community Market on Main Street. If you have a hankering for cookies, you may want to get there early because the first 100 customers will get a free slice of cookie cake. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Mar. 17. (WDBJ)
