- A Lynchburg family is seeking a kidney donor for their 19-month-old daughter diagnosed with Bilateral Multicystic Kidney Disease. Magnolia is in end-stage renal failure and has been on dialysis since she was 7 weeks old. She has had more than 20 hospital admissions and seven surgeries. Her mother Sydney Maglosky said Magnolia can receive a kidney from someone with blood type B or O and the general requirements are to be healthy and preferably under 50 years old. (WSET)
- A 17-year-old male has been charged with injuring a 15-year-old in a shooting in Lynchburg. On Apr. 10, police responded to the 7000 block of Timberlake Road where they found the 15-year-old male with serious injuries due to a gunshot wound. On the scene, officers claimed they saw the 17-year-old who was covered with blood trying to hide the firearm away nearby. The suspect has been arrested and will be charged with discharging a firearm in a dwelling, reckless handling of a firearm, underage possession of a firearm, use of a firearm in the commission of a felony, and malicious wounding. - A Campbell County woman won $200,000 from a scratch-off lottery ticket from Apple Market on Wards Road in nearby Rustburg. Lynette Crider was delivering a cake to a friend when she stopped at the market where she bought a "The Price is Right" scratch-off, which ended up being the 200,000 jackpot prize. One more $200,000 Virginia Lottery ticket still remains unclaimed. (WSET)

- The Lynchburg Public Library will host a public shredding and sidewalk book sale event on Apr. 22! Residents can get rid of old documents, such as legal documents and tax papers, which will be shredded on-site. It costs $10 per large bag and must be paid with cash or check. (WSET)
- The city of Lynchburg will be celebrating Arbor Day with the theme "A Tree Can Be a Champion" on Apr. 15.
