  1. In a potentially growing trend in Lynchburg and surrounding areas, Apple Air Tags or similar tracking devices are being used to track students' locations. According to Liberty University, these devices are allegedly being placed on vehicles or personal items, which could be used to track a person's location and movements without their knowledge or consent. If something like this happens, authorities recommend going to a well-lit, populated area and calling the police. Victims are encouraged to file a police report, which could help law enforcement gather information and identify potential suspects. (WSET)
  2. Beginning today (Apr. 24), a temporary lane closure will occur along Dillard Drive to accommodate Shentel crews performing aerial, trenching, and directional drilling work for line installations. Titled "Shentel Project BAU #13," the lane closure for this project will continue through Monday, May 8, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on weekdays, weather permitting. (Lynchburg)
  3. The Lynchburg community filled downtown's Riverfront Park on Saturday for its 12th annual Lynchburg Wine & Music Festival. The festival, originally scheduled for earlier in the day, was pushed to the afternoon due to rainy conditions. More than 10 wine, cider, and spirit vendors set up on Jefferson Street. Local businesses, such as Holy Heaven Cookie Co., Pap's Cigars, and Happy Bees Apiary, were also in attendance to keep festivalgoers busy throughout musical performances.
