Family Escapes Manassas House Fire, Cause Under Investigation

Smoke detectors alerted residents to a fire early Tuesday in Manassas, allowing them to safely escape.

MANASSAS, VA — A family safely escaped a fire early Tuesday in the City of Manassas, according to the fire department.

Around 1:08 a.m. Tuesday, units from Manassas, Manassas Park and Prince William County responded to a townhouse fire in the 8300 block of Felsted Lane. Firefighters found smoke showing from the front door, located the fire in the basement and quickly brought it under control. Searches found no residents trapped inside, as they evacuated after being alerted by working smoke detectors.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
