Woodbridge Man Fatally Shot In Group Altercation In Manassas: Police
Prince William County Police believe a man's death was tied to an exchange of gunfire between groups in Manassas.

MANASSAS, VA — A Woodbridge man died in what Prince William County Police believe was tied to a group altercation Thursday in Manassas.
Police had responded to a shooting report around 6:19 p.m. Thursday in the 8300 block of Sunset Drive. Officers found the involved parties had already left the area, and there were no signs of injured people.
Officers then received a report that a 22-year-old man was being treated for gunshot wounds at a hospital. A police investigation determined two groups were in an altercation around the 8300 block of Sunset Drive. The fight escalated, and the groups exchanged gunfire. The two groups left in separate vehicles, and the injured man went to the hospital. He later died of his injuries.

The man was identified as Calvin Tyshaun Odell Batson, 22, of Woodbridge.
Police do not believe the shooting was random. There were no other reported injuries or property damage. Detectives continue to investigate what led to the shooting.
