Man Found Beaten at I-66 Rest Area Near Manassas

Investigators believe that the man was targeted, according to Virginia State Police.

MANASSAS, Va. — Virginia State Police is investigating an assault at one of the Interstate 66 rest areas near Manassas.

The victim, only identified as an adult male, was found at 6:22 a.m. Wednesday at the westbound rest area. He was suffering from injuries that were not life threatening, and flown to Inova Fairfax Hospital for treatment.

At this stage of the investigation, it does appear to have been a targeted assault on the victim, according to VSP spokesperson Corinne Geller.
