Manassas 4th Of July Fireworks, Food Trucks, Schedule: 2019 Guide

MANASSAS, VA—It describes itself as "one of the largest fireworks displays in Northern Virginia," so what's not like about Celebrate America? Held from 3-10 p.m. Thursday, July 4, it's a downtown extravaganza centered around the Manassas Visitor's Center, the Harris Pavilion and the Manassas Museum.

(As for Independence Day weather, according to the National Weather Service: Showers and thunderstorms are likely, mainly after 5 p. m. Partly sunny, with a high near 92. Heat index values as high as 100.)

The event itself is free, of course, but there's also the option of attending a rooftop viewing party on the top deck of the parking garage with various ticket options. As for other activities, there's a bicycle decorating contest, a bubblegum blowing contest and a watermelon eating contest. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets for the best seats on the museum lawn to watch the 9:15 p.m. fireworks display.

For another option, there's the celebration at Signal Hill Park, 99 Adams Steet, in Manassas Park. Hosted by the Manassas Park Community Center, the event begins at 6 p.m. and will include food trucks. Fireworks should begin sometime after 9 p.m. Free shuttles from VRE and City Hall are available.
