Police Investigate Fatal Car Crash in Gainesville

A man died following a fatal crash on Lee Highway near the I-66 overpass in Gainesville at 9:54 p.m. Tuesday, according to Prince William County Police.

Grant Austin Christensen of Gainesville, 39, was transported to a nearby hospital where he died. No other injuries were reported.

A 55-year-old Maryland man in a 1992 Honda Accord was making a left turn onto Lee Highway when he was struck by a 2011 GMC Denali driven by Christensen that was turning onto the highway from Linton Hall Road.

After the crash, the Denali continued northbound on Lee Highway where it lost control, became airborne, and hit a concrete pillar to the I-66 overpass.
