Police Search For Attacker in Abduction Near Manassas

Police said a man dragged a woman off a main street and hit her with a blunt object.

Prince William County Police are searching for a suspect who attacked and abducted a woman who was walking along a Manassas-area street.

It happened Sunday at 9:40 p.m. on the 10000 block of Portsmouth Road in Manassas.

The 20-year-old victim told officers a man approached her from behind, covered her mouth and tried to drag her into a nearby alley, according to Prince William County Police spokesperson Jonathan Perok.

The victim was hit on the head with a blunt object during the attack but managed to get away because her attacker fled and she started screaming. The woman suffered minor injuries.

Police have a very vague description of the suspect who is described as a man with a medium complexion wearing a dark, long-sleeve shirt or jacket.
