Standoff Follows Armed Fight At Manassas Home; 2 Arrested
Two people face charges tied to an altercation at a Manassas home last week. One of the suspects barricaded himself inside the home.
MANASSAS, VA — Two people were charged after an armed dispute at a Manassas home last Thursday, and one of the suspects had a standoff with police.
Around 7:26 a.m. Thursday, officers responded to the 8600 block of Carlton Drive for a physical fight report. When officers arrived four minutes later, one suspect, identified as James Tinnell, 26, had fled the home and was detained. Witness information led police to find a gun that Tinnell discarded.
Two victims were found on foot away from the home. One victim had a cut on her wrist from the fight. She did not need medical attention.

A police investigation found another suspect, Alonso Perez, 29, a resident of the home, displayed a gun and cut the victim with a knife. Officers attempted to contact Perez in the home, but police say he barricaded himself.
As police obtained charges for Perez, a crisis negotiations unit team and emergency services unit were brought to the scene. Police entered the home and had Perez in custody at 12:15 p.m. A search warrant in the home uncovered another gun and potential narcotics.

Perez was charged with attempted malicious wounding and brandishing of a firearm. Tinnell was charged with obstruction of justice and a concealed weapon violation.
