House Fire With Rescues In Manassas Sends 3 To Hospital

Reports indicated three people went to the hospital, including two people rescued from the home.

MANASSAS, VA — A fire broke out at a Manassas townhouse Monday afternoon, sending three people to the hospital, according to Prince William County Fire and Rescue.

The fire response happened around 1:37 p.m. Monday in the 7900 block of Flager Circle in the Bull Run neighborhood. Firefighters had encountered a blaze in the three-story townhouse's garage that was spreading.

Crews were notified two people were still in the home on the upper floor, leading to rescues. The two residents and a third resident were taken to the hospital for treatment and remain hospitalized.

There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire, but the fire marshal's office was on scene to investigate. The home has moderate damage from the fire. The fire department did not provide an estimate of damages.

The residents were alerted to the fire by working smoke detectors. Prince William County Fire and Rescue said all homes should have working smoke detectors that are checked regularly.
