Suicide Linked to Manassas Rest Area Stabbing: State Police
Victim at rest area was found suffering from multiple stab wounds, according to Virginia State Police.

MANASSAS, Va. — Investigators believe that the suspect in a rest area stabbing killed himself hours later by stepping in front of a train, according to Virginia State Police.
With more than 50 miles between the two incidents, it was not disclosed how investigators were able to link the two cases.
At 6:22 a.m. Wednesday, the victim was found suffering stab wounds at a Interstate 66 rest area outside of Manassas. Identified as a 60-year-old custodian, the man is being treated for injuries that are not considered life threatening.

Two hours later, state police responded to a railroad crossing in Warren County. A male subject, later identified as Khalif R. Privott, 21, of Manassas, reportedly parked his car nearby and stepped out in front of an oncoming train.

"Through the course of the investigation and evidence collected at the scene in Warren County, Va., State Police special agents have identified Privott as the subject responsible for the attack at the I-66 rest area," according to a statement by Corinne Geller, a state police spokesperson.
The investigation into the attack and suicide are ongoing.
