Virginia Governor Election 2021: How Manassas Precincts Voted

MANASSAS, VA — While Republican Glenn Youngkin claimed victory in the Virginia governor's race, Manassas voters favored Democratic candidate Terry McAuliffe, according to unofficial election results. Voting totals are available on the city and precinct levels.

Overall, there were 6,164 votes for McAuliffe, 5,033 votes for Youngkin and 85 votes for Liberation Party candidate Princess Blanding in Manassas. That's with eight of nine precincts reporting.

Votes that would still need to be counted include any provisional ballots and absentee ballots postmarked by Tuesday and received by noon on Friday. Results will be certified by the state on Nov. 15.

Only three out of eight precincts in Manassas favored McAuliffe, although the former governor easily won among the mail-in and early voters. McAuliffe won mail-in votes, with 77.4 percent, compared to 21.27 percent for Youngkin. He also won the in-person early votes, getting 56.91 percent of the votes compared to 42.45 percent for Youngkin.

On Election Day, Youngkin won five out of the six precincts. The only precinct that McAuliffe won on Election Day was Dean, where he received 58.28 of the vote total, compared to 40.85 percent for Youngkin.

Among the five precincts where he won, Youngkin performed the strongest at the Round precinct, where he received 56.38 percent of the vote, compared to 43.21 percent for McAuliffe.

• McAuliffe: 2,134 votes, 56.91 percent
• Blanding: 20 votes, 0.53 percent

• McAuliffe: 535 votes, 58.28 percent
• Blanding: 8 votes, 0.87 percent

002 - WEEMS (10)

• Youngkin: 564 votes, 49.78 percent
