Today, I would like to focus on you, how you’re doing, and where you are. I’ve been focusing on slowing down, which may sound kind of ironic considering everything is slowly opening back up and people are getting back to “life” and getting out more. I’ve been feeling as though we had the time where due to circumstances out of our control, we were forced into a space of slowing down and isolation as things were shut down. After talking with some friends, I realized how many are feeling as though life did not slow down.

I’ve recently been focusing on something I really love to do-, taking pictures of nature. It made me realize that I need to “pause” more in life. I’ve thought of our daily routine as driving a car: we don’t drive forever without taking the time to stop and fill it up with fuel, get oil changes and regular maintenance. Lately I’ve been more aware in my time and activities to make time to stop, even for a moment to capture a picture and enjoy it, downloading a one minute meditation app, or appreciating a cup of coffee (another favorite) by taking the time to taste, smell and enjoy it.

I hope this encourages you to slow down, pause, and take a moment to breath, or enjoy the little things that bring you joy. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy some of the beauty that I have enjoyed photographing. By the way, these beauties are right in our MPCC backyard!
