Fairfax County Clerk Of Court Election Results: Chris Falcon Wins

FAIRFAX COUNTY, VA — Democrat Chris Falcon defeated Republican Gerarda Culipher for Fairfax County Clerk of Court in Tuesday's general election.

In Fairfax County, Falcon won 181,387 votes, or 62.49 of the total vote count, compared to 107,464 votes, or 37.02 percent, for Culipher.

In Fairfax City, the race was closer. Falcon received 3,954 votes, or 57.60 of the total vote count, compared to 2,866 votes, or 41.75 percent, for Culipher.

Falcon, a practicing attorney who currently serves as deputy clerk for the Arlington Circuit Court Clerk’s office, is the son of immigrant parents from Peru and Ecuador. He grew up speaking Spanish and learned to speak English as his second language in kindergarten in the Fairfax County Public School system.

He will be replacing retiring Fairfax County Circuit Court Clerk John Frey, a Republican who has served as clerk of the county’s circuit court for the last 32 years.

The Clerk of Court serves the residents of Fairfax County, Fairfax City and the towns of Herndon and Vienna.
