January Blood Drive To Be Hosted By McLean Volunteer Fire Department
The McLean Volunteer Fire Department is partnering with Inova Blood Donor Service to host a blood drive on Friday, Jan. 26.
MCLEAN, VA — The month of January is designated as National Blood Donor Month in the United States.
Due to inclement weather, and cold and flu season, the winter months are often a time of reduced donations and an increased risk for blood shortages.
In response to the low blood supplies in the D.C. area, the McLean Volunteer Fire Department is partnering with Inova Blood Donor Service to host a blood drive on Friday, Jan. 26.

Spots are available for people to sign up to donate blood from 1:30 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. on Jan. 26. Visit the Inova website to book a spot to donate blood.
The blood drive will take place at the fire station at 1455 Laughlin Avenue in McLean. The Inova Blood Donor Services Bloodmobile will be parked in the fire station's parking lot.

In honor of National Blood Donor Month, all donors on Jan. 26 at the fire station will receive a sweatshirt while supplies last.
