McLean's Jimmy Bierman Enters Race To Succeed John Foust As Dranesville Supervisor
Jimmy Bierman, a McLean resident and former Dranesville District Democratic Committee chair, is hoping to succeed John Foust as supervisor.

MCLEAN, VA — Jimmy Bierman, a McLean resident and former Dranesville District Democratic Committee chair, announced Monday his candidacy for Dranesville District Supervisor.
“As a native of McLean, I am excited to announce my candidacy to serve the only community I would ever want to call home,” Bierman said.
“Fairfax County is a great place to live, but many of our neighbors are struggling to get on a path that fulfills the dreams they have for themselves and their children,” he added

Bierman said his priorities if elected to the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will include promoting trust and accountability in local government, ensuring Fairfax County remains the safest jurisdiction of its size in the country, developing a workforce equipped for an evolving economy, fully funding public schools, and investing in smart and sustainable development.
In August, current Dranesville District Supervisor John Foust (D) told his colleagues on the Fairfax County Board of Supervisors that he would not be running for re-election to a fifth term in office in 2023.

“I want to thank Supervisor Foust for his many years of service to our District,” Bierman said. “John has served our community with distinction since 2007, and I’m running to build upon his success addressing issues concerning County residents. Few people work as hard as John, but I’m going to try.”
The Dranesville District includes McLean, Herndon and Great Falls and parts of the Vienna and Falls Church areas. The election for the Dranesville District will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023. If more than one candidate files as a Democrat, the primary will be held on June 20, 2023. Currently, Bierman is the only candidate who has filed to run for Dranesville supervisor.
A graduate of Williams College and Stanford Law School, Bierman is making his first run for political office. He served as chair of the Dranesville District Democratic Committee from 2019 to 2021. As a member of the Fairfax County Police Civilian Review Panel since April 2019, Bierman served a term as chair from March 2021 to April 2022.
Bierman also recently served as an attorney advisor in the Biden administration's Department of Homeland Security.
While growing up in McLean, Bierman said he learned to swim at the Spring Hill Rec Center and checked out books at the Dolley Madison Library. Beierman, his wife and their son live in McLean.
