More Traffic Headaches on Tysons Corner Roads

They are repainting the lanes this week

Another traffic headache awaits motorists in Tysons Corner this week: Crews will be doing emergency repainting of the lanes along main thoroughfares along most of the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project alignment for the rest of this week.

Re-striping (a fancy way of saying they are painting white lines to designate lanes)  might help since the lanes keep moving.  These repainting operations will take place from 9:30am-3:30pm Tuesday-Thursday, Mar. 3, and from 9:30am-noon on Friday.

The following roads are scheduled to be re-painted in both directions,:

  • Route 123 inside the Beltway, between Capital One Drive and the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267)
  • Route 66 between the Dulles Connector Road (Route 267) split and the Great Falls Street overpass
  • F-773 Frontage Road, between Route 123/International Drive and Route 7
  • Route 7 side streets and intersections – Tyco Road/Westwood Center Drive, Spring Hill Road, and Westpark Drive/Gosnell Road

This work will require rolling closures of a single lane of traffic while the work is being done. Paint trucks will be followed by crash trucks and another vehicle for safety.

Drivers are encouraged to use extreme caution and expect minor delays today while the roads are re-striped.
