Neighbors Ask About Incident Near Chesterbrook

Inquiring Neighbors Wants to Know

Some of you asked us what was the police activity Wednesday afternoon near Chesterbrook Road. We inquired of the Fairfax Police Department and here is their report:

On March 2, around 2:25 p.m. police received a call from someone  who observed someone climbing into a rear window of a home in the 1500 block of Hardwood Lane. Several police units responded and located the individual. However police discovered that the individual was the son who forgot his key and not a burglary suspect.

On Thursday, one neighbor wrote us,  "Yesterday afternoon the bus taking kids home from McLean High School, and headed down Forest Lane just off Chesterbrook, was diverted back to school by the police.  The police officer told the bus driver (as heard by my son on the bus) that the area was closed off because the police were conducting a ground and helicopter search for a suspect in the area.
