• How To Recycle Christmas Trees In McLean After 2025 Holidays (patch.com) — McLean households ready to take down their live Christmas trees after the 2025 holidays can use Fairfax County’s curbside collection for recycling between Jan. 5 and 16, 2026. Residents in McLean can also haul trees to the I-66 Transfer Station or I-95 Landfill Complex for a fee, after removing all decorations and stands, or check with private haulers and HOAs for pickup details.
   

• Priest says sisters slated for deportation are Christians who could face persecution by Iran (anabaptistworld.org) — A pair of Iranian sisters worshipping at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in McLean now face possible deportation, alarming their pastor and fellow congregants. The women, baptized there in 2022, say they sought asylum to safely practice Christianity and could face severe persecution if returned to Iran, while their lawyer challenges the government’s claim that they’re in the U.S. illegally.
