The McCutcheon/Mt. Vernon Farmers Market will open April 16 for its 2025 season with more than 20 vendors offering fresh, locally grown produce plus baked goods, seafood, meats and other locally produced foods. The market will run from 8 a.m. to noon every Wednesday through Nov. 26 at the Sherwood Regional Library.
Please remember to bring your reusable bags to the market as the Fairfax County Park Authority wants to make Mt. Vernon and its other nine farmers markets plastic bag-free. If you forget, don’t worry – vendors will have compostable bags as a backup.

The market is strictly producer-only, meaning that all of the farmers and producers may only sell what they raise on their farms or make from scratch. The Fairfax County Park Authority, which runs the market, encourages vendors to use local ingredients in the creation of their products as much as possible. All of the farmers and producers come from within a 125-mile radius of Fairfax County, with a few exceptions for hard-to-find products.
The market accepts SNAP (Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program) benefits and will match SNAP customers’ purchases by up to $40 with the proviso that the matching funds be used for fruits and vegetables only.
