MVCCT Presents The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe
C.S. Lewis' beloved story comes to life on the stage
Mount Vernon Community Children's Theater (MVCCT), the premier children’s community theater in our area, is proud to present C.S. Lewis’ well-loved and timeless story of The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe. The four Pevensie children find a magic wardrobe in an old professor’s house and as they explore it, they find themselves in the magical land of Narnia. They meet talking animals, mythical creatures, Father Christmas, the evil witch Jadis who has placed an enchantment over the whole land, and the powerful lion Aslan, who leads the Pevensies and the creatures of Narnia in their quest to reclaim their beautiful land from Jadis.
The intense action features chases, duels and escapes as the witch is determined to keep Narnia in her possession and to end the reign of Aslan. This story of love, faith, courage and giving, with its triumph of good over evil, is a true celebration of life.
Directed by Emily Carbone, an MVCCT and West Potomac High School alum, the cast of local middle and high school students have been hard at work since December to bring Narnia and their characters to life. Rehearsing six hours each week, including virtually during snow storms, the cast is very excited to bring this exciting story to audiences throughout Alexandria.
