Search On for Fisherman's Body in Potomac River: Police

Recovery efforts are underway near Piscataway Park area of river, according to Maryland Natural Resources Police.

Authorities are searching for the body of a man Monday morning in the Potomac River, according to Maryland Natural Resources Police.

Police say the man, 31, is from Falls Church and jumped into the river from a boat to get a fishing rod.

Maryland Natural Resources Police say they were alerted Sunday at about 5 p.m. and that search efforts are underway in the river near Piscataway Park (see map below). The area is across from Mount Vernon.
