Sherwood Library Friends Bookstore celebrates February
Friends of Library used bookstore spotlights Black History Month and Valentine's Day
This week the Friends of Sherwood Library bookstore is open on Wednesday from 1 – 4 PM and Sunday, 1 – 3 PM. The library is located at 2501 Sherwood Hall Lane, Alexandria, 22306.
In recognition of February as Black History Month, we have a dedicated space on our “coffee table books” area featuring non-fiction selections about African-American history, including a two-volume set “Black Women in America”; “Black Reconstruction in America” by W.E.B DuBois; and “Malcolm X: The Last Speeches.”
We constantly update and add to our children’s selections, featuring like-new picture books, easy readers, young adult series, fiction and non-fiction for all grades and reading levels. If you haven’t looked at this room lately, please visit and be sure to let your neighbors, teacher friends, and parents/grandparents know about this fantastic resource.

SPECIAL, just in time for Valentine’s Day: thanks to a generous donation of like-new romance paperbacks, we are able to offer a special price of $1 per bagful on the popular genre. We supply the bags.
The bookstore always appreciates donations in all categories, both fiction and nonfiction, in resalable condition. Please, no magazines or encyclopedias. Receipts are available for tax purposes.
