Walk to End Alzheimer's Raises $675,000 in Southeastern VA
Williamsburg Landing Named Top Fundraising Team

Norfolk, Virginia, December 7, 2021- Over 2,300 residents of Southeastern Virginia and Virginia’s Eastern Shore participated in six Walk to End Alzheimer’s events in September and October, raising over $675,000.
“We were excited to be back in person at the Walk to End Alzheimer’s this year, keeping the health and safety of our participants, staff and volunteers as top priorities,” said Gino Colombara Executive Director for the Southeastern Virginia Chapter. “Participants in the six Walks have raised over $675,000 to support the care, support and research programs of the Alzheimer’s Association and we know the total will go up because fundraising continues until December 31.”
The Williamsburg Landing team, captained by Leslie Bowie who lost her mother to Alzheimer’s, raised over $30,000 and was the top fundraising team out of all 367 Walk teams in the Southeastern Virginia chapter region.

“We would like to thank our State sponsor, Sentara Healthcare and Regional Elite level sponsors of our Walks: BayPort Credit Union, MI Technical Solutions, Our Lady of Perpetual Help, and Pearson Toyota. Their commitment to support the fight to #ENDALZ has greatly contributed to our fundraising success,” said Colombara.
