Mark your calendars! Coming to a cafetorium theater near you: It’s Thoreau Middle School’s annual spring musical! This year’s play, Once Upon a Mattress, is the merry musical re-telling of the classic fairy tale “The Princess and the Pea.” Performances run April 7-9 at 7:30 p.m. in Thoreau’s cafetorium.
All tickets are $5 and at the door, but arrive early as shows do sell out. You can also reserve tickets in advance at ThoreauDrama@gmail.com!
This abridged version runs about an hour long and is appropriate for the entire family. There is also a Saturday matinee at 3 p.m. April 9. This is our “Welcome, Elementary Schools” performance, in which we encourage kids from all our Vienna feeder schools to come see the play and learn about the Drama Program at Thoreau. Come meet the cast afterward, and Mr. DeLeo, the head of Thoreau’s Drama Department. Thoreau’s spring musical is a long-cherished school tradition, and we encourage all school and drama alumni to attend!
